Liechtenstein valley, enclosed tightly by the Rätikon Mountain range of the Eastern and Central Alps, surprised us with its beautiful villages, charming farms, and gigantic high tech businesses. The highest peak is Grauspitz, which rises to 8,527 feet (2,599 metres), and much of the principality is at an elevation above 6,000 feet (1,800 metres). Liechtenstein, a constitutional monarchy, is a microstate in Central Europe with one of the lowest unemployment rates in the world.
Once in the Swiss metropolis of Zurich, we walked along the Limmat river and across the business district. The charming back streets led us to a hidden church in the middle of district 1. Our film screening, arranged by our peace ally Iwona Fluda at the Swiss Peace Council, found us among some old friends. Jahna Gloor joined us for the showing and Brigitte Schiller hosted us for the night.
With another great visit to Zurich complete, we continued on to France…
